| Jacob came and helped out to load up the trailer for the for the first load to the house. He came several days to help. Franklin has helped some too. Lee-Ann spent the Saturday before her birthday with us. Irvin was not able to spend time with her like he wanted to that day. We were buying supplies for the house. We have spent over $1000 on the house already. We got the water and the lights cut on. We got a new 80 gallon electric hot water heater for $294. It was cheaper than a new 50 gallon or new 40 gallon. We put a sheet of sheetrock in the dining room. We put sheetrock in the kitchen. We put a sheet of sheetrock in our bedroom. Irvin did put the roll on roofing on the roof. We had a rain and some of it was blown up, and about to come up because of the wind. He had to nail it some more. We replaced some windows. Somebody had unhooked the wires to the stove. Irvin hooked it back up. Irvin bought a commode kit to fix the commode. It's still not working. The commode is still leaking. Also it is not bolted to the floor. We are just going to have to get a new commode. Irvin bought a tub kit and installed it. The faucets are leaking though. Also he still has to buy pipe that will connect and go to the cesspool. He bought a kitchen sink kit (pipes under the sink). Something under there is still leaking. Since I have been at the house staying there full time, I see that all the rooms are going to need new walls and new floors. Jonah's room and the girls' room and the bathroom need to have new ceilings. Irvin is going to hook up the attic fan. Somebody unhooked it. Renita came over one day to see us and the house. We visited for a while. She said that once we get the house fixed up it is going to be a real nice house. So much stuff has been going on some of it is a blurr. We have been so busy between the two houses. We have mainly been at the Holly Ridge house. It's been so much back and forth. Brother John Skinner has been at the church on Sundays. They are not completely moved yet. They are staying at the youth parsonage while they are in town. They have been painting and doing other things in the parsonage to get it ready to move in. The youth parsonage is already prepared with beds, food, and everything they need until they move into the parsonage. We had a Putman Family Reunion on April 25th. On April 24th Irvin left the house. He had to go to Tallulah to sign insurance papers. Priscilla from EZ Auto said that he and the man there had to go to the bank and sign papers before a notary public. I was just able to ask Irvin about it yesterday. He said that he had to sign papers to where they get the insurance money and they get the money from the tag. He said that he told them that it was not right that he paid for everything and then when the truck got totalled they get all the benefit from him paying insurance and from the tag. Yes, his truck was totalled. Irvin had told me when he left the 24th that he did not have enough gas money to go to Tallulah and then go back to Holly Ridge. When 4 o'clock a.m. April 25th came and he had not shown up, I was little upset. It was not like him not to come in on time. He had been getting up early. I kind of looked for him at 9, because he had been getting up around 8 every day. The Family Reunion was supposed to start at 10. I told the kids if he was not there by 10, then we were probably not going. He surprised me and showed up at 11. He asked me if we were ready. We got ready and went. He was panicked. He told me that he had had a blow out at the house on Friday and the Franklin had had to take him to work on Friday night and pick him up Saturday morning. He said that they had been running around Tallulah all morning hunting a tire. I told him that nobody had been to tell me what happened. I told him that since he had told me that he did not have the gas money to get back, then I was prepared to stay there until Thursday if I had to. He told me that he would not leave me like that. He was so upset, thinking that I was upset. I would have been more upset if he had not told me that he would not have gas money to get back. Since he told me that, in my mind, I was just going to wait on him until he got back. We did go to the Putman Family Reunion. We thought we were late. It took us about 38 minutes from the Holly Rdge house to Main Street in Oak Grove. We had to get the tire changed out when we got to Oak Grove. Mama called me to see if we were coming. I told her that we were in Oak Grove and that we would be there as soon as we got the tire fixed. She said that they were waiting on some people to get started. When we got there, they had still not started. We visited while waiting. When Jeannie and Wesley got there, everything started. Uncle Glen made the announcements, did the prayer before the meal. He picked up a big platter. He said that he believes in giving big, so he got the big platter to take up the offering to help with the rental of the building and paying for the crawfish. Those who attended the Putman Family Reunion. Daddy, and Mama hosted it. I was there. Irvin, Persephone, Jonah and Joy. Karen & Chad. Sarah. Melanie, Toney, Hannah & Austin. Aunt Diane, Celeste, Catrina & Matthew. Celeste's girls: Courtney, and Hayven. Matthew LaCaze, Slade and Catrina's other son. I don't know why I can't think of his name. Kim's daughter, Jordan. Uncle Ed & Aunt Deanie. They had Pam's daughter with them. Uncle Glen, Aunt Sue, Nina & Sheila. Greg, Ashley and Kolby. Jess, Alyssa & Preston. Aunt Carolyn & Uncle Willie. Jason, Donna, Savannah & Madison. Uncle Jerry, Jared & Ashley. Nicky. Uncle Wesley. Jeannie, Nathaniel, Dusty & Chastity. Terra & April. Cindy & Laura. Robert, Shirlene, Peyton & Carmen. Celeste is working at a nursing home in Bastrop. She and Shirlene are supposed to get together sometime. Shirlene and Robert live in Log Cabin. Matthew recognized that he had seen Persephone at West Monroe, when she went with Jacob. Uncle Glen is back pastoring. He is pastoring in Pineville. Celeste said that when she was a heathen and running around town and everything she met Uncle Bobby Joe's son, Nicky. She invited him to the family reunion. She went to his house to get him. He was mowing the yard. He told her that since it was his first Putman family reunion to attend, that he needed to go and get a shower. He did not want to attend his first family reunion stinking. He promised her that he would come. He did come. He looks so much like Uncle Bobby Joe. Aunt Carolyn cried. I think she felt like she was looking at her little brother many years ago. Everybody welcomed. him. Daddy even told him where they live, so that he can come see them. Uncle Donald was not there. Uncle Daniel had to work. Randy had to work. Pam was on the road. She had been to California, and she was on the way to Colorado or somewhere. She's a truck driver. Sunday April 26th we went to Start Assembly of God. We went to give some family support to Renita. She was trying out for the pastorate. She was voted in 100%. Unanimously. We are so proud of her. We are so glad for her. After church we went to Wendy's in Monroe to eat lunch. Renita addressed the first year of Master's Commission and how it is. She said that everything pretty much is taken away from the students. They are limited in the movies and tv shows that they can watch. They are limited to G rated movies and even some of them are restricted. No boyfriends or girlfriends. Bobbie had already told me that they have an hour of prayer in the morning. They have intense Bible study. After Persephone heard what Renita said, on the way to Wendy's she said that the first year in Master's Commission stinks. I told her that Mama is going to be shouting the whole first year, because of things being dealt with. We have moved just about everything to the Holly Ridge house. Persephone did not go to the Easter Production at West Monroe. Jacob and his girlfriend broke up. He asked Persephone if she wants a boyfriend. She told him yes. He asked her if she wants him for a boyfriend. She told him yes. Since we have been at the Holly Ridge house I have been washing dishes in buckets and washing clothes in buckets. I hang the clothes on the ladders to dry. I put them out on the front porch to dry in the breeze. We are having to cut the water off and on because of the leaks. The sink in the kitchen is leaking. The commode is leaking. The bathtub faucets are leaking. They all have to be repaired. You do what you have to do. We haven't been having school since we have been spending so much time back and forth. The schoolbooks are all at the Holly Ridge house. When we do start school back, we will be having school in the living room for the time being. Irvin eventually wants to get me a building that we can have school in. Persephone and I finished reading Sex, Love and Romance for school. We started reading I Kissed Dating Good-bye. Most of the front porch at the Holly Ridge house is cleaned off. There is a big hole in it. For now the washer and the dryers are out in the front yard. Irvin has not hooked them up yet. That is why I have been washing clothes in buckets. Irvin's long ladder is also in the front yard. We have a huge burn pile to burn at the Holly Ridge house. Irvin said that we need to wait until we get a water hose so that it doesn't get out of hand. Franklin made the gaming computer wireless. The people next door, I do not know their last names. Robert and his wife Rhonda. Rhonda is a nurse. Her daughter Hannah lives with them. Hannah's boyfriend lives with them. Hannah's 4 year old daughter Audrey lives there. A grandmother also lives there. Rhonda said that they have lived there for 15 years. The land and trailer together were $15,000. They paid for it in 5 years. Next to them is a Mrs. Moseley. Rhonda said that she has satellite internet. She said that we can get it off of her free, as long as we have a wireless computer. She said that if she had had somebody within 2 miles of her that had it, then she would have been able to get it free, but she didn't have anybody. She said that anybody that lives within 2 miles of her can get it free. The only thing left in the Holly Ridge house that we do not want is the old couch. We are still using it temporarily. It's hard to move around because of one of the legs. I will be glad when it is out. Persephone went last night to babysit Cody for today. Dawanna called Franklin and Cherie's house to see where Persephone was. Franklin took Persephone over there. Irvin put a ceiling fan in for Dawanna a couple of weeks ago. She paid him $20. He tried to fix another light for her, but it has a short or something in it. She said that she would have to get another ceiling fan this week for him to put up. He had made arrangements to put it up for her on Saturday, but he has to work Saturday. Irvin eventually wants to get a refrigerator to just put drinks in. For the time being, until we can buy curtain rods and stuff, Joy helped me to hang sheets up for curtains. She got on the ladder, and nailed them up. She wanted to help her mommy. Irvin said that they are talking about laying 200 people off at LeTourneau. He said that they are going to start tonight. He is not worried if he does get laid off. He has plans regardless or the circumstances. He says that it would not bother him if he gets laid off. We will see what happens. Irvin had said that he did not want to take the air conditioner from the Tallulah house. He was just going to leave it there so that Ashley would not say anything. He has changed his mind. Franklin and Cherie are using it here, while we are here. Irvin is hoping that on Sunday that we can take the last load to the Holly Ridge house. After church we are supposed to go to Renita's and have lunch with her. Then we are going to go back to church that evening. That's the plan for now. Jonah and Persephone want to stay at the Holly Ridge house next week. Irvin is thinking about it. Shalain is supposed to be in visiting, from Oklahoma. Persephone wants to spend some time with her. Irvin said that the bank has messed us up. He did not get a check last week or this week. The bank took them. We are hoping that the next paycheck will be clear, or the bank taking very little at all. We are hoping. When we get back to Holly Ridge, after we get the money up, Irvin wants to do the kitchen first. He is figuring that it will cost around $1000. After that, he wants to do the bathroom. He is estimating that it is going to take around $800 or $900 for that.

| Jonah's birthday was April 5th. He had a wonderful day. Thomas, Blaze and Jacob came to his birthday party. We had hot dogs, french fries, chocolate cake with chocolate icing, chocolate ice cream, Dr. Thunder and Sam's Cola. Brother Danny stayed until after the cake and ice cream. He said that he had been working too hard and too much lately. He needed a nap. Brother Skinner stayed for a hot dog. He said that he had to go meet some people, but he wanted to speak to Jonah and get a hot dog. He told Jonah Happy Birthday, and he wished him a great day and the most wonderful year ever. After lunch the boys played together. Irvin wanted to go to the house in Holly Ridge. We measured the house and the rooms. The house is 38 x 47. The kitchen and dining room are 14 x 22. The living room is 16 x 14. The hall is 14 x 9. The bathroom is 10 x 6. The girls' bedroom is 13 x 14. The master bedroom is 15 x 15. Jonah's room is 13 x 8. It is bigger than the house in Tallulah. I thought it was. Irvin was not convinced until we measured. He measured the windows on Saturday. He needs a large ladder to get on the roof and measure it. He is going to have to buy it. Freddy and Christy Snow need prayer. They lost their baby. Christy was about 8 weeks pregnant. Persephone went to West Monroe with Jacob Sunday night. She had a good time. It was a good service. She wants to go back on Easter Sunday. They are going to have an Easter production. Irvin told her that we would see about it. Persephone found out that Jacob has a girlfriend. She was shocked. She said that she wants to talk to him about it Monday night. She said that she knows that they are just friends, but he could have told her. She said that she is not mad at him or anything, she just wants to know why he didn't tell her. The girl got mad for Jacob bringing Persephone. The girl was shocked that Persephone and Jacob have known each other for over two years. Persephone said that they held hands during the service and Jacob kissed the girl when the girl left. Persephone met the youth pastor. Brother Skinner did a Passover message, explaining in detail what the Jewish people do on Passover. He read Scripture about the Last Supper . We had Communion with matzo bread. Brother Skiner had 4 cups with grape juice in them. He explained each one in the Passover meal. It was a really good service. As we took the bread, he asked us to pray for each other. We kept Lee-Ann Friday night until after church Sunday night. She got upset because Irvin was not there Friday night. She was happy as a lark when she saw Irvin Saturday morning. She is something else. She had to have him sit by her for meals. She wanted him to feed her sometimes. Other times she wanted to feed herself. I washed clothes most of the day Saturday, while Irvin, Jonah, and Persephone went to the church to mow grass. Persephone and Jonah went to the youth parsonage to clean up the back yard. They said that it did not take but 5 minutes to do it. Irvin, Persephone, and Jonah went to the house in Holly Ridge after 1 o'clock. They cut grass and cleaned the yard over there. Irvin wants Franklin to help him on Friday or Saturday, preferably both days, to help him get the refrigerators out of the house. We found the refrigerator that Leonard wants to keep. It appears that there is one more bucket to be burned. Irvin wants a place to go dump mattresses and things like that. Irvin seems to really want to get into the house soon. He is tired of paying $400 a month rent. We are behind with them right now. He wants to get everything caught up this month, and move in as soon as possible. That's all for now. | Persephone has decided that she does not want to complete the American History with Christian Light. She wants to do ACE. That means 12 books instead of 4 to finish American History. She said that Christian Light is just too hard. She has a question about Ferdinand. She doesn't remember what we read about Ferdinand. She said that the only Ferdinand she can think of is the story about the bull that loved to smell the flowers. We talked and laughed about that story. That's all for now. Homeschool Mom 5 | | |
| When we went to West Monroe Friday, I remembered the place that Mama had talked about. She said that there was a place that serves peanuts as an appetizer. They expect you to throw your peanut hulls on the floor. I saw the place on Friday. It's Logan's Roadhouse. Saturday we went to the Junior Bible Quiz match in West Monroe. We had a good time. We did not place as a team. Individual scores. Joy got 40 points. Jonah got 705 points and 4th place in the State. Joy was so disappointed. She wanted to go to Regionals so bad. She got a door prize, so it made her feel a little bit better. Dodson got 1st place, so they are going to Regionals and Nationals. Regionals is going to be held near Little Rock, Arkansas. The other teams going to Regionals are: Central, Broadmoor, and Crossing Place. West Monroe and Rayville did not make it to Regionals. Sister Ruth Carpenter from Dodson has to come see me after the match. She told me that she saw me cheering for them when they won. We did high fives to each other. I told her that I am glad for them that they are going to Regionals and Nationals. She said that she did not realize that they were going to get to go to Nationals until somebody from her team told her. Broadmoor is getting a new name as of Easter Sunday. Brother John Ponder said that there have been so many times that they have gotten mixed up with Broadmoor Baptist, so they are going to change their name. Also they are not really in the Broadmoor part of the city of Shreveport. Their new name is going to be Gateway Church. Persephone just told me that Holden and Dawson may not get to come to Jonah's party on Sunday. It depends on when the funeral is. Brad's dad suddenly died today. She said that Brad and Anna need our prayers. Shalain has been calling and talking to Persephone. Also, they have been talking on Facebook. Facebook is fun. I have gotten in touch with so many people. Jeannie is my friend now. Laura is my friend. Stephanie is my friend. I have a few more friends that have recently been added. That's all for now.
